Denzel...Saluda Avenue

It would be entirely remiss of me not to post the standard uniform of the men and women living here at Fort Jackson. (Although Denzel is stationed at Fort Benning). The website Tate Online claims that the "word camouflage appeared for the first time in English on May 25, 1917 in the London Daily News, when it was used in this sentence: "the act of hiding anything from your enemy is termed 'camouflage.' " However, with further research, it seems the French army created a "camouflage division" in 1915. Camouflage is derived from the French word "camoufler" meaning to diguise. Ah, how I detest conceding anything to the French. (Exceptions made of course for Hermes, foie gras and the superb Eric Rohmer movie, Claire's Knee).
