Darling Young Woman....Downtown

I snapped this photo a few weeks ago and kept coming back to it. I was completely smitten with this young woman's style, true, the short ruffled skirt, the purple plimsolls.  But there was something more, something about that adorable knit cap beyond its general cuteness.  As I searched through my files for a clue, I realized....

 ...I'd seen something quite like it before.  First, on the always-fashionable Faith, above.  I had written about Faith's Japanese-influenced sensibility well before I came across the same sort of cap again....

....on this charming young woman, who was all tangled up in a craft project at the Columbia Museum of Art when I met her.
