Darling Julie's ensemble put me in mind of Meryl Streep in
Out of Africa--feminine yet ready for rugged adventure. In what I understand is known as a "senior moment", I had neglected to bring along my camera. Fortunately, the handsome gentleman, just visible on the left edge of the photo, allowed me to use his telephone to take this shot. Unfortunately, the phone camera seemed much more intent on getting the striped shirt to the right in focus, leaving Julie's lovely face looking a tad fuzzy. Perhaps I should have viewed that as an omen, dear reader: after enjoying bluegrass, barbecue and beer at a charming establishment called
Smoke, I was feeling a tad fuzzy myself.
