Holiday Blizzard....Various Points North

There are always silver linings to find when weather makes travel impossible. In my case, I was stranded by a snow storm for the holiday week. Lucky for me, my saga took an old-fashioned twist (and, dear reader, you know my fondness for the Old-Fashioned).

I was taken in by a friendly farm family, of which this darling girl is a member. She and her parents made me feel very welcome, serving me many cups of tea and allowing me to participate in agricultural activities such as goat-milking, stall-shoveling and the like. Delightful! As was the cap the young lady donned to wear in the snow: I was amused by the long braids of yarn and admired her ensemble's silvery-grey palette.
