I am always delighted to run into darling Kat, the young woman who I suspect
inspired invention of the word "adorable". She had set off this simple dress with an intriguing nautical-esque belt. I inquired and learned it had quite a story.
The belt is the work of
Thomasine Dolan, a former designer for Banana Republic. Kat had helped orchestrate a pop-up shop to show her line,
ThomDolan, of which this belt was a part. The belt is hand-knotted, Kat told me, by genuine sailors.
